Zello is an application like Skype and others. Before I go any further, I want to share what i believe sets Zello apart from alternatives.
1. The app operates on a VERY low battery power
2. The app operates on VERY low CPU power
3. The app operates on a VERY small bandwidth on the internet. It can receive just barely     1 bar via wifi or 3g runs clear as day. Others will not work that low. OK whats this have to do with PC? I'll explain.
The applications are push-to-talk (PTT) walkie-talkie for consumers and business and available for Android, iOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Windows PC, rugged mobile devices and two-way radios. Zello is free while the Zello@Work application is free for up to 5 users.  
Zello acts as a replacement for traditional two-way radios, offering additional features such as history, replay last message, notifications and Bluetooth device support. It works over 2G, 4G, 3G and GPRS/EDGE networks.

I have 2 accounts 1 for Android and 1 for PC. I can push 1 button to call my Android  no dialing talk just like walkie talkie very fast..
Pick ur own button and your own channel. i believe theres 27 .,Paul i'll get back to you on the channels
Skype has been compromised and is nothing but trouble. All they can do is band-aid right now. Its in bad shape
VOIP They're alright no appealing attributes. boring
I have made devices like bluetooth for $5 where Zello would kindly sell u 1 of theirs. But im a DIY kinda guy

You need minimum 4 - 8 KBPS available.
Uses NO BATTERY POWER
Uses NO CPU power.
PUSH TO TALK is a great experience.
CITIZEN BAND of the 21th century.
MANY FEATURES SUCH AS VOX, ALERTS selection. 

NEGATIVE :
Doesn't start automatically when after cellphone reboot !

Where Skype and other voip apps will fail because of low bandwith, ZELLO WILL DO THE JOB !
