Besides all the copy and pasting and hopping from site to site gathering info and editing trophies etc . I also get emails and messages from members and players and friends and not so much friends from all over WGT. You know me . I just cant respond with a simple

I have to write a book about every thing somebody asks me . All the time . That takes soo looong . It is just the way I do it . So it is no wonder I can't see the invites from people . The same invites that I preach to everybody that they should consider accepting .
I wish WGT would enable some kind of sound like a fire alarm or an air horn or a fog horn or a siren on the invite icon . ( joking ) Or maybe add an invite icon to the top and bottom of the tab pages . Possibly a notification like . ( not joking )
" A MEMBER IS INVITING YOU TO A MULTIPLAYER MATCH IN OUR INVITE SYSTEM . TO ACCEPT OR DECLINE PLEASE CLICK HERE ".
I get messages like the one below too often . The sad thing is nobody wants to accept invites more than I do . Those multiplayer matches are my best times here on WGT . I just can't see the invites .
I explain that I just didn't see them . Most do not believe me . This is and has been a WGT wide problem forever . Most times the green available only means that one is logged on to WGT. If they do not see the invite . They are most likely surfing , or typing , or going to the bathroom , or at Walmart . . They are not sitting there waiting to ignore or decline your invite .

I was almost joking about the annoying sounds . I have sounds disabled in WGT anyways . But the relocation and addition of the invite icon , and a notification are very real and serious suggestions . It is too bad that you have intimidated the entire WGT world so much that they will not come here and confirm my issues ever . They wouldn't take a chance against you all . This is very confirmed BTW . I have been told this countless times . COUNTLESS . Means more than I can count .

Not well . I talk to many CC owners that have the same problems and always have . In fact i have been told by the owners of active and popular 250 member CC's that alt shot is so difficult to get anyone on the same page on . That very little effort is put toward that mode .. Because of the very difficult to accept invite system . That is one of the main reasons why alt shot is not ever included in independent tournaments . This is true . One who uses the " create a game " and or " find a game " features using the random modes with the " best match or " anyone " selections would not have these problems
Andyson If you continue to try and discredit me . I will stop . I will just leave WGT and my CC . There is so much BS all around . You are not a CC owner . You have no idea about any of the things I have talked about for the last couple of years .
You are so fcking annoying . Knowing that i have to battle you makes me want to puke . If your intention is to drive me out of WGT as you have successfully single handedly done to members on many occasions . Then you may be close to doing that .

I am not surprised and happy to hear that
There is no doubt that there are some very dedicated and loyal and willing to do the work CC's full of players that get it . That is admirable . But far from the norm . Really . Most WGTers don't have it like that . I used to think it was just my CC . But even at our best during 2015 . It wasn't easy to pull off . We had several alt shot tourneys as well .
That group has moved on and I have inquired of many many other players throughout WGT . It seems that many do not have much luck in the inviting of CC members and or friends from their lists . There are many factors that come into play . Not just the difficulty in getting invites accepted from the desired player . The willingness to be available at the ideal times is lacking in a very noticeable way . Attitudes have changed site wide . Could be a result of the inability to complete a multiplayer round as disconnects continue to plaque this format as much or more than any other . A big problem all around for everyone .
You have to have noticed the impact these glitches have had . Then I come back to the frustration of missing for whatever reason the much wanted and anticipated invite . That can only be seen in that little tiny rectangle in the " PLAY NOW " left side flash player area in the tab window . I could have missed 5 invites just now writing this response . The current notifying little green rectangle completely evades any tasks or necessary moving around to perform any number of routine and necessary tasks that many find necessary to do on a regular basis . There is no disputing this . As much as I keep checking mine . I still miss a majority on a daily basis . It just makes sense in so many ways to have a more attention getting notification .

Of course not . But it does require looking at every scenario in a completely different perspective than a normal player ever would consider . And the better the owner . The more of this is very evident . That's just a given .
As perfect as your CC is and runs , and a good amount of others as well . There are 100 times as many that encounter the opposite results . Maybe more . I know it will be a cold day in hell when WGT takes its sites off of you upstanding perfect running like " dradles " CC's and care about the problems that don't generate revenue issues that the rest of us incur as a lifestyle on an everyday basis here on WGT .
It is what it is . I don't make these obvious states of affairs up . I observe and listen and this is what I see .

AND If you see CC members are green then stop what you are busy with and send them invites. This makes sense since you are emphasizing internal CC play among members you might give it higher priority. This is not rocket science either!

  Yes it's gr8 stuff . But it is no cure for what plagues me . I continue ( as I have for years now ) missing many invites per day . Very regretfully so . As I consider myself available and on WGT . Anxious to accept . But I have no way to know I am being invited .

  There is a very simple solution to your problem. Get Maxthon browser and utilise it's split screen function, no more missed invites.

  I already have Maxthon and the split screen function that I use everyday . Hadn't considered leaving it open as a viewer to the WGT tab pages or game client . . That is a very good idea and solution . Thank you for that . Am excited to see who's invites I can pick up .

You have blocked 230,231 ads !
Each time I reinstall Maxthon this number starts over . So it is closer to 2,000,000 . Have been over 750,000 a couple times Without blocking the ads . I get much more slow loading and disconnects .

Really PT? Open a second forum window by right clicking on the bookmark and selecting Open in a New Window. Resize that window to only show the friends list and move the new window to the far left. Then resize this window to make it a bit narrower and show the new window. Its easier to do than describe....;o)

Not that it is any of your business andyson . But since you asked . 2 of those three are my most frequently played members . But i know you know already that what i speak about the invites being so hard to achieve amongst the ones that you want to be available and be available for at the exact right times is the truth throughout WGT . I miss at least 5 times more than I am able to accept . In fact andyson . It is a rare moment that i have available to send an invite . Obviously while I am posting something or recording something or creating something or answering something or already playing would not be a good time to send an invite . .But those may be good times for me to accept an invite. .

Bouncing back and forth from image hosts creating , comparing , resizing , copying takes one out of the WGT tab quickly enabling you to use the 2 screens for the tasks that you are doing . Which puts you back to square one .
It is not always possible to even click fast enough to accept a 5 second invite
May I remind E 1 that sending someone a 5 second invite is not long enough for some one to acknowledge , finish typing a sentence , click out of what they were doing , and respond before you cancel the invite . The last 10 invites that have been sent to me were the 5 second variety . Give me a break please .

This might be another case of "YOU MEAN WHAT YOU SAY NOT WHAT I READ" but here goes anyway.....
I read "Its not a good time for you to send an invite while you are busy doing something else, however even while you are busy doing something else that may be a good time for you to accept an invite." In other words, You can't stop what you are doing to set up and play a game with CC members, but you can stop what you are doing to accept an invite. You don't want to go thru all the rigmarole of setting up a game and then waiting for the CC member(s) to accept or not.

Don't touch the resized 2nd window and adapt the size of any other application to keep it visible. It works if you give it time for you to get used to it. I do it all the time myself.
Or ScottHope has another Maxthon method using a pop-up window method that always stays on top of the screen. Watch his video at the bottom of this thread.

No give us a break please....C'mon Really? 5 second invites? Your last 10 have all been 5 second invites? I've never sent a 5 second invite myself nor have I witnessed a host sending a 5 second invite. You're seeing a conspiracy of your CC members sending 5 sec. invites just to p*ss you off! (now there's an idea!)
If you had your game client already open you could accept the invite first then go back and clean up or finish what you were doing. (I think that's the way it would work IIRC but not positive)

Removing, as you've said, over 230 members from your CC to get it down to the tight 26 members you now have. All that work you do searching for new members, posting your ad on their wall and inviting them to join. More wall posts when they do accept. etc. etc..... IIRC you had 33 CC members in January. How's all that important stuff you're doing working out for you?

okay . I have invited many more times than any one i know . I don't remember mentioning alt shot . By far the fewest number of invites on my list . Also the least played format . but definitely the most enjoyable .

The hasty inviting host impatiently cannot wait long enough to see if you accept and frantically goes through a number of players not giving them time to accept .

You just can't resist opening a can of worms . Yes the system that we currently have is faulty . We , me , you the players are faulty . The mix isn't good and anyone that says it works fine is either an andyson or they have never used it .

For myself , when I am engaged in other tasks . i would be remiss to place myself unavailable . As I would not want to miss the possibility to accept a rare invite . Yes many of the invites that could be missed are ones that I may never get a chance to play again .
I used to keep friends list at over 700 for fear that i would miss that rare invite from a long lost friend ( WGT friend ) which really amounts to thousands .
But when i started a CC . It became more important to me to keep my friends list under the Magic 255 to enable PM's for all of my members .
Along with the chance that i would forget to change my status back from unavailable . Which happens every time . Thus possibly missing more important invites . There is no chance that i am going to purposely change my status to anything other than available . People do not come online because I am green . But they do invite when they are online because I am green . I try not to miss them . But it happens . I think as I have mentioned there could be some improvement in the way we are notified . Like simply an icon at the top and bottom of the page . Or a pop up notification stating that a member is currently inviting .

Actually have tried both suggestions . They were more of a nuisance after a while .

It was written long before I myself ever had a problem with the missed invites . But rather in response to a few CC members that had been experiencing this problem and had PMed me about it .

They will never fix it or touch it . But it will remain as a top revenue producing event .
I only wish the multimedia messaging programs could be repaired and upgraded . Dream only of owners tools working properly . But they would cost mega bucks to repair . and so would all the other glitches and work a rounds we are so accustomed to . Not gonna happen . I'm not fooling myself . I have made other viable suggestions that i know will never even be considered . Like the colored icon for each member . To activate green if that member wanted to receive invites from other CC's . To stay red if that member does not want to receive invites from other CC's . Irregardless of whether that member belongs or does not belong to a CC . Completely their right and choice . Reasonable suggestion . i am sure very low cost and limited admin work to add to a members profile . But it will never happen .
Nothing much in the way of improving anything will be seen here . Look at all the clusters of inactive profiles and CC's that they could do something about . Also allowing CC owners to compile thousands and thousands of stagnant pending members lists . Between all that . no system can run properly without periodic cleaning and clearing . They don't do it . They don't stress to us that we should do it , we don't do it . it's a mess andyson .

Yes it barely works well enough for us to enjoy multiplayer rounds everyday . I am one who has 50 % of my rounds 3 and out in disconnects . I enjoy the complete rounds . I also enjoy the 4 or 7 or 8 holes I play before disconnection . But it's not right and I'm not going to say " leave well enough alone ".

It is unfortunate that you feel the need to discredit me and make me out to look like a liar and an exaggerator . I have already felt the effects this has had on people . I had one member defriend me recently and message me explaining that it has come to their attention that i would not be one to be associated with .
I was a little taken aback for a minute . But not long . I have met quite a lot of your ignorant , cynical , pessimistic , untrusting and troubled types here . For every 10 of those . I have 100 friends that know me to be true and honest as the day is long . Would defend them and have their back the whole time you try and destroy them .

I have to agree..that was nice of Henry. The fact he has amassed over 4000 "friends" means he doesn't believe in deleting...so you are probably safe.
ps. I'm surprised there are 4000 active players on this site (or at least active enough to accept a friend request). WGT's assertion about "millions" is a bunch of marketing hooey ...I'm sure many of us (incl TopGolf?) are curious as to the number who regularly play.

Man am I out of shape . Reading this old thread exhausted me .If you don't know . This was a typical expectation from anything I posted . For quite sometime . I never let it bother me . But I agree . It was such a waste .
This is just one of many threads that highlighted various concerns myself and others . Have had with the old invite system .
There are actually other threads where I point out other controversies and problems . Directly related to the invite system .
Arguments amongst some prominent CC's . Regarding whether or not someone had or had not invited at the proper time as previously agreed . Or the invitee had not responded . When they had previously agreed they would .
And several other similar scenarios . That have lead to members quitting CC's . Taking their ball and going home .
Then there was " The Invisible Invite Debacle " in 2015 . Which affected not just the general WGT public . But at the time there were a number of Challonge.com weekend tournaments going . That were completely disrupted . And eventually and quickly led to the final cancellation of said events .
The problem was that invites were being sent but not seen . With formats relying completely on the invite system . Left these events dead in the water .
That glitch was eventually resolved . But not before it had discouraged the potential weekend tournament players enough to move on from those events .
So the public and personal issues that were real . With the invite system did and do exist .
Now PCEA is experiencing the frustration of the converting flash players . Who depend on a more accurate view of the actual players that are actually available for matches .
This feature will be very important in the immediate success of this transition .
I seriously hope WGT will take measures to refine and improve the invite feature .

Lol . Very funny Henry . There isn't any shortage of friends . Never was . You don't need to repost a post from some other thread and some other time .
Since this game is basically unplayable in multiplayer . PCEA becoming bad to worse in a matter of a couple of months .
Not only is the Forums a waste of time . The game has become too limiting to enjoy . Instead of stubbornly refusing PCEA . I have tried to fully embrace it . That is not working out so well .
So what is the point anymore ? The Forums mean nothing . There is no joy in the game .

I thought you would get a kick out of it. It not a re-post. I just responded FINALLY, to your post in this same thread but it was a long time ago which I failed to notice so failed to respond to back then. I am sorry you are not enjoying WGT any more. Its too bad. I liked the old style better but the way I look at it, there is nothing we can do about it so I am just making the best out of a bad situation. I have also taken up on a cell phone golf game called Golf King. Its kind of hoaky, but better than nothing.
We had a good run. It was fun while it lasted. You were one of my heros. I do miss it. I especially miss the forums. I loved having fun with people. It was fun winding people up. In the early days, you were not a fan of Henry's either and had posted some nasty messages to me and about me, but once you figured me out, you were one of my best friends. I appreciate that Paul. I will never forget you and you will always be my friend.

Now now boys. Lets all be friends. You two are two of my best friends, so I don't want to see anything erupt between you guys. You are both very nice people. I spoke with Joe on the phone for a long time and got to know the real Joe - A most interesting fellow with a lot of life experiences (probably the most of anyone I know). And Paul, I have never talked to you on the phone, but I promise once Covid is over, we will stop in for a beer in our travels.
