MY NEW FAMILY

My whole life has been filled with a lot of GR8 family .

Adopted family 

Foster family 

Step family

And much extended family between them . 

I have 2 beautiful biological daughters .

But no clue to my biological parents or beyond . 

5 years ago Karen bought me a 23andMe DNA kit . I submitted my DNA .

It didn't take long for several first cousins a handful of second cousins , a grip of third cousins and thousands of 4th cousins to show up .

I thought WOW I might be getting somewhere . 

I messaged all the first cousins to see if they knew anything .

None of them did .

Until 5 weeks ago . A first cousin named Ellen messaged me and said that her mother's sister is my mom named Lorna. That I have a half brother named Scott . That she thinks she met my dad when she was young .

Scott submitted his DNA to 23andMe 4 weeks ago . Today the results are in .

Scott is definitely my half brother with 27.10% shared DNA & 52 segments .

WOW !

His mother is my mother . 

Unfortunately both parents have passed . But not positive about my dad . Trying to get more info .

But this is very exciting . My new half brother and my first cousin and I have talked , texted , and emailed many times . And the results are real . 

They are so nice .

Ellen is a working on the genealogy and has tons of ancestral information to share with me and my daughters .

I never would have thought I would meet any of my biological family .

It has made me smile again .
