PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A young boy has died after being hit by a statue outside an upscale Phoenix resort last week.
Around 9 a.m. last Wednesday, Nov. 27, Phoenix fire crews responded to reports of a child who had been injured at the Arizona Biltmore resort near 24th Street and Camelback Road.
The 8-year-old boy was rushed to a hospital in extremely critical condition. Police confirm that he died the next day, on Thanksgiving.

An 8-year-old boy died a day after being hit by a falling statue outside a Phoenix resort.
Video from the scene showed a broken statue that had fallen outside the resort. Phoenix Fire Capt. Todd Keller confirmed that the child had been struck by a “concrete object.”




In an update provided on Monday afternoon, Phoenix police call the incident a “tragic accident” and say there are no signs of foul play. The child’s name is not being released.
