For starters I don't care that I got booted from a CC, just thought this is funny I got booted from The Georgian and removed from the owners friend list for not getting enough experience points.
Really some people are pathetic

I always like to think that my club exists to help it's members. Not the other way round.
I have members that haven't played for quite a while but i wouldn't remove them as i consider them to be my friends.

Would you recommend kicking someone out without knowing why they haven't played for a while?
I think this is a presumptive, mean spirited, generalisation.  I am in Dazza's cc and very much appreciate the way he lets us all do our own thing.  Some like to play in cc tournaments and many like ready-go's or brackets or whatever, some play many rounds a day and some hardly at all.  I've not seen any complaints about it.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean with the getting work or contributions out of guests analogy (do you get them to hoover for you? Wash the dishes and put them all in the wrong places maybe?  Or simply charge them Wink).  What exactly is anyone, even someone who doesn't play at all, taking from the cc?  Does the putter pal wear out? We have 70 members and space for 250.
Sorry if this sounds a bit aggressive but I've started my second beer Wink
    Happy new year to all.

If people request to join a CC, there must be a reason?...to simply take up space and contribute nothing to the growing of, or the betterment of the CC?..to not put forward ideas to help the CC?, or help those struggling with their game? if they are ill or away, that is an entirely different matter...but Dazza didn't mention this.
ps...the next time you let someone stay in your home for a loooooong period of time and mooch off you...I'm certain you will be most appreciative...maybe you feel like a cold beer...oops, none left?, and you're sure you still had some in the fridge ...well, I guess you can kill time by doing that sink load of dishes still sitting there...yup, he's defo a good "friend"....to think otherwise is mean spirited...lol
Happy new year to you as well

  • As a CC Owner, I still think after all these years... A Country Club is a place we can all relax and have fun with no restrictions or rules (within reason). I think CC's is the backbone of Wgt. Takeaway the clubs and we are left to play Wgt comps   lol  (no offence)
No offence to any club but if you are forced to buy passes, I think that is pretty bad.
It's hard enough to get clubs and golf balls, having to get passes too...  well, not good

And likely a high contributor in other areas . But when you couldn't " voluntarily " hit that 1200 XP's per day everyday . You got the boot .

  •  Solarflares:

Whatever CC you join in the future. You will find that , to get to level 4 and the desirable free shot-pal - the owner will have worked-hard those first-months to get the required 149,000 xp's.
This costs time , effort , balls , and especially money.
The CC is then an attractive prospect for any wanting those free shot/putter pals.
But , why should you benefit from that when you aren't prepared to accumulate daily xp's for your club and give the owner what I would consider to be the minimum-return on his or her investment and hard-work.

     pdb1:
  •  Dude . Please . Because these members from this CC and the other notorious CC as of late . Probably contributed more in XP's and in all the other important areas that make a CC successful . Than you will ever get . These guys probably are outstanding players as well . And more than put out what should be , if anything , required to be in a CC .

  • They make you buy passes or you're shown the door???!!!

  •  No they don't make you . But if you slow down on buying them and lower the average . No matter how good you are you will be booted .

  •  ct690911:
Sue...when I mentioned contribute, I don't necessarily mean XP points. Posting in the forum, setting matches or tournies, helping weaker players learn and get better, thinking of ideas to grow the club...these are all ways people can contribute to make the CC better for everyone...MORE DRAMA FROM THE # 1 GEORGIAN Icon_smile

 pdb1:

Finally someone talking about the real WGT here . Very well said and hopefully commonly practiced by the tens of thousands of CC's .
These XP CC's are only a couple hundred . With a completely different agenda .
They will always have clout ( being such a small minority ) . Because of the monetary output .
WGT loves them . Money talks .
And then there is the rest of us . The happy majority .

Now, back to the topic ...why would someone join a CC and not contribute? I know our owner gives them a fair opportunity to respond to her before she removes them. I was sick for a spell and I told her up front that I was, and I wasn't removed by her. She has told us when she has sent messages to players who haven't played in some time and hasn't gotten any response from them, before removing them. If a player is unable to play for a while, its their responsibility to let the owner know they cant play. And if something happens and they cant respond and get removed... they can respond when they are able and she will gladly allow them back  in.

  •  Again another good post . This is a very good protocol .
  •   The owner informs members that there are many ways to contribute .
The owner suggests that in the case of any absence . A heads up is necessary and everything is all good . Very reasonable to expect the same courtesies and respect that has been given to the members .
When members cannot be contacted , will not respond , not contributing , etc . Of course they will be removed .
If said member does have a change of heart and desires to be active and accountable for . And wants to commit to that very easy condition . Consistently .
Any reasonable owner will be happy for them to rejoin . ( as long as you aren't just giving the owner lip service and go back to the same BS ) .
Which happens often and sometimes 3 , 4 , 5 times with some members who have good owners .
But these are all just common sense and have nothing to do with the XP CC's .

  •  ct690911:
You don't mention anything they do to qualify for the title of "friend"...friendship is earned, and definitely a two way street. If someone joined a CC and has no interest in being active within it, or contributing to it in some way, then they are simply dead wood and should be shown the door

  •  pdb1:

  •  Yes a tough issue there .

  •  ct690911:
If people request to join a CC, there must be a reason?

 pdb1:

Not necessarily . We , newer CC's came into the game way late . CC's have been around for a long time . Anybody wanting to be in one is already in one . Period .
If they are not . They likely have never been in one , or had 1 or 2 very bad experiences in them .
Either way they likely do not have a clue what to expect or even what they want themselves .
Enter the need for communication . First between the Owner , Directors and the new member . A rapport there is crucial . And always needs to be there . Nothing worse than an owner that cannot contact a member to save his life . Not good .
That is just the beginning . From then on everything depends on how well the needs and desires , the accessabilities of CC events , information , and other members . Are communicated to the new member .
If it turns out that the CC is welcoming and everything is all there and questions can be answered . The new member feels like he fits in to this CC . Then everything should be all good for the new member to play in CC tourneys , pay attention to his pass so that the CC gets at least a few XP's , says boo in the forum on a semi regular basis , responds to any communication the owner or directors submit .
Bingo . Success . Without the above it is very difficult from both the Admin and the new members perspectives .

 ct690911:
(Paul) has certainly done a lot of work parsing out the different posts and responding ..kudos for showing so much interest.

 pdb1:
Thank you I think   Don't know what I missed . Probably don't care or need to know . I do just pop in and stick my nose right in on topics that seem to hit home with me . I Really do try to steer clear of the offensive , defensive , name throwing , bashing . That I have been caught up in , in the past .

 Solarflares:
If you want to comment in my direction - can you please write proper english and make some sort of point.
 pdb1:
No I cannot promise that .

I haven't seen a good forum suicide in a while . This thread would be no gr8 loss .

Paul, you attributed this quote to me, when it was actually Jeepie's quote (see above on this page)... I don't think you missed anything, else I did also.
My compliment on your thoroughness was genuine.

LMAO . That is good too .

I'm just high-lighting the need to nip this wholesale slaughter of innocent xp-building members in the bud before it's too late.
Just trying to save some lives here.

 pdb1:
Very noble of you . I don't think you can do much about it . They will survive the slaughter . And end up somewhere that knows what is right .
  One more thing .

 roaddawgstyle:
damn I am busted I am jealous of you guys stuck in a CC with miles of forum posts bickering about who should get the Golden Putter.

 pdb1:
  LMAO  . love it .

 alosso:
I once was tought that human communication is likely to fail, but "no communication" is safe to do so.
Another fine quote from the master . Can't say these things enough . Obviously .

MORE DRAMA FROM THE # 1 GEORGIAN Default13 MORE DRAMA FROM THE # 1 GEORGIAN

Every Day People CC Weekly Rewards.

The Georgian is a Joke

NOTHING LIKE A FALSE MEASURE IS THERE ?

  clickable links above

There are many more .
here is one of my points

That's where the grey area begins . .
I do not think that WGT provided this  event for these CC's as a standard way for anything . The abnormally high output of mega revenue that flew even further through the roof when WGT created this Grandstand for Greed .  And I do mean that WGT is much more greedy than any of these over the top out of control deep pocketed , puppet CC's that believe that by spending as much and more money than the CC next to you . Is WGT's standard by which they measure a CC . . Are you fcking kidding me ? I do not believe I have read any standings or statistics about these CC's . Nor do we hear WGT boasting about the ridiculous monetary success of that event . Because that would be tipping their hand . And expose them as  greedy and would be better to remain voiceless. The chances of convincing anyone that there is any validity or justification for what is happening there is slim to none . It is a sad joke and an insult to those who love online golf . Very much like the CLASH . In this though every member in a 244 person CC has to average 1100 XP's per day every day without fail to stay # 1 . Multiply that by the revolving 100 CC's competing .  That's around 1.5 mill per week .no skills required .
Can't you see that WGT just provided the platform for it  . Then backed away . And watched the CC's run away with it ,.
Just like the CLASH . it has nothing to do with low scores , Skilled shot making , birdies , eagles , double eagles , ones individual skills , putting or anything to do with golf at all . DUH .
Frankly I see no point or gain or validity  to it . Or anything to be proud of .
MOOO . Is that a cash cow I hear ?
  I'm just sayin
