TROLLING ; NOT A GOOD LOOK

TROLL ;DEFINITION :
A troll is someone who harasses other people online to try to get a negative reaction from them. To troll someone is to harass them.

The open forums are supposed to be a place for the users to give , share , use , contribute , find , search as much information as possible .

Forever these WGT Forums have been narrow minded , prejudice , clicky , noninclusive , Known to flame bait , discredit , degrade , insult , bully , even group conspire against individuals , sexist and racist as well .  .

These open Forums frequently oppose other viewpoints that do not align with their own . Other opinions are often not even considered . Before the person is systematically roasted and discredited to the point of not being able to answer in any way .

To question the validity and the knowledgeability even the intelligence of persons is common .

To try and discredit individuals  To take words out of context and use them against the target .

To take a statement. Out of context . Purposely put it on blast . For no other reason but to try and discredit someone .

To get joy from the possibility of humiliating the person .

Knowing full well that is not what the person said or meant .

For one to practice the art of trolling is not that unusual here ( in WGT ).But is exclusive to a small group . Could be as much as 10% of the forum activty . At worst .

It is even more surprising when respected individuals begin this practice and join the fray .

Historically it is somewhat generational . When one generation starts fading . A newer group of trolls step up  .

I guess they do not know or feel that it is not a good look to troll someone .

This is just juvenile and sadly pathetic .

There is no humor in it .

There is no defense for the target . Nothing can be said to make it right .

It can only escalate . With nothing but serious and negative repercussions .

The targets cannot engage . The odds are so heavily against them .

NOTE : The majority is against this practice . But remain silent .

Although up until recently . The Moderation dept . had been complicit with these actions . Often moderating the targets . With no action on the perpetrators .

Those trends may be changing for the better .
