First, the biggest of the bunch:

Gebharik - The Moving Groves, aka the Forestback Beetle 

(Try to imagine a traveling mollusk making its way as a type of land whale..)

Upon which crawl one of the smallest:

The Mysterious Umbaldes 

(These little guys thread the needle between Greylords...)

Luhk, the Freeborn 

(Not every Malok is beholden to a queen enslaved by a Greylord.)

Bachu - the Dream Eaters 

(The feverdream floofs whose keen instincts provide a critical service to the Nexus.)

Drens - the Corpselight Whisperers 

(Okay, somewhat dangerous, I ran out of cute ones fast! But, really, only if mama's hungry or threatened. Still better than the Slaugh.)

Banghozu - the Stone Callers 



(This is the first time I've edited and wrangled with this race, and I see an intriguing connection between this Greylands race and the Mist Folk listed among the Race. But that'll have to come later. Wink )
The Moving Groves, Mysterious Umbaldes, and Luhk will feature in a major story in my next Tales of Miurag anthology: Death, to be released after Shadows & Hounds (Sister Seekers 10).
I wasn't able to fit in the Bachu until the God Wars, but man, those little guys are popular with readers! AS ETASKI * Expanding the Nexus: Fuzzy & Not (Much) Threat * 72I understand why; I adored their write-up the first time I read it.
The first 4 of these articles were sponsored in 2015-2017 by patrons to help develop the world as we moved through it the first time. The last 2 were just the "widget maker" doing his thing. Text and sketches credit to my long-time collaborator and friend, NecrosisBob. There are a couple remaining Nexus figures I need to hold back until Book 10 is released, so we'll move on to some Ma'ab Ascended teasing for next time!
