An ongoing issue with me has been how to better adjust my putt strength according to the green speed.  Any hints?

TIPS & QUOTES FROM OUR MEMBERS FRIENDS & WINNERS Icon-quote kmamjmemedmmm:

  Hi Wishman,

for 10 speed greens I use what is shown 12 ft 3in uphill is a 15 foot putt.

11 speed greens is every 12 feet -2 feet. So a 24 foot putt will play as 20foot putt depending on up or downhill.

12 speed greens is every 12 feet -3 feet. So a 36 foot  putt will play as a 30 foot putt plus or minus up or downhill. or basically 75 percent.

13 speed greens use the 75 percent rule and minus 1 foot per 15 feet additional.
that is the formula i use and it worked ok for me so far.

 nitramgoht:

What has help me is using the swing meter.  You can use the lines on the meter to adjust for the speed.

If don't have the meter, I would use 20% less power for a putt that is red the whole way to the hole.  If it's blue to the whole way to the hole I use 10% more power.

I try not to leave any putts short, and no more than 2 ft. pass the hole.

  I hope this helps.

If you have any more questions feel free ask, I'll do my best to help.

If you get a Max Control putter (Lvl 80) it has meters of 10ft, 15ft, 30ft, 45ft, 60ft, 90ft and more.

fire one up....grip and rip it!!!!   just kiddin'......... tough call from me.. I have played this so damn long, I seriously do that..... rise and fall ....I play the real game the same. I used to stand over a putt in college..   take 3 minutes to hit it, rethink and readjust, and my coach told me... trent just take your first read and go with that. and at the tee,i used to take 5 or more practice swings, then again coach told me I was playing 5 rounds of golf everytime I played. he did actually say grip and rip it, played the regular game well since then. now with wgt, not the same process, but for me, take my 1st line and go with that. I play quick as paul will tell ya. sometimes it works, and sometimes not.... loluck all>>> clucktrent

grip and rip...............     ist decision is usually your best...play a lot... practice in practice mode early on as to not affect your averages.....   rent clubs before u buy.. one i learned the hhard way......   just have a blast.. paul will tell ya i play fast and always set my game at 90 seconds and tell the other player,,, he needs to play his game at his speed...   this is my only suggestions i can add. what you read above i have learned as guys like our members  have passed on or i learned on many games.... good luck and have fun
