For your members .. it's a cut-and-paste message that I send to everyone.  The program is compiled without MS Certification, so some people that use an antivirus software program set with super strict settings will get a warning message.

I've taken to copying the entire link address to my messages, since WGT has this "works sometimes" bug with their link option.  If the link doesn't work, just copy and paste the link to your browser search box to get to my google drive.

On the drive, you'll find a "read me" file, a file called "Approach and Putting Calc.Ini", a sample file titled "Sample Approach and Putting Calc.txt" and an Adobe PDF file with the documentation.  Please review the "read me" file for instructions on how to install, and also be sure to review and download the documentation.  If you're curious as to what my program will store on your hard drive, check out the "Sample" file.  It's basically all of the variables I use for wind and putting calculations ... nothing special.

When you first load the program, it will attempt to read the ".ini" file.  Since this is the very first load, it won't find one, so you'll get a message telling you that several variables could not be read and they were replaced with the default variables.  Be sure you reply with "yes" when it ask you to save.

That's it.  Once it loads, select "wind calc" for approach shots and "putt calc" for putting.  You can also jump back and forth between the two, by selecting "Putting" from the approach calculator and "Approach" from the putting calculator.

I hope it works well for you.  Take some time and review the documentation.  The defaults worked a month ago ... not so much now.  You'll have to make some changes to the variables ... and if you aren't using the same clubs as me, you'll want to change the club distances too.

Note:  There is now two install files on the drive. .. one is the first release and the 2nd is the beta version of the new release.  The big change that I won't mention on the forum is the overlay routine.  I copied my current overlay to the drive as well.  If you install version 2.0, be sure to get a copy of the overlay (called Kat's Shot Scale).  And check out the movie.  It will give you an idea how to use the overlay feature.  A picture's worth 1,000 words ... so a movie has to be worth 100 times that!
