Owner’s Objectives

It's been a while since I expressed some of my objectives for the CC . First of all I like and respect everyone that joins our club . I realize that not everyone knows what a CC is all about . Many have different reasons for joining . I really don't know how many of the other clubs are run . They are all different . What I want to emphasize in our CC is that whatever tier you are . That you feel comfortable here , part of a team of players that come here to find conditions that enable them to improve their game , hone their skills , lower their scores ,lower their averages , move up in tiers . Enjoyably and comfortably with the conditions that challenge them enough to keep that drive without the frustrationsof regular game play . All that is completely possible by either creating those tourneys yourself or by messaging me about it . Or someone else in your tier that has been creating tourneys . Any kind of information that you need to know should be provided here , any kind of appp , calculator , help , tutorial , tournament , statistic , message , opinion , gripe , compliment , etc , etc . Should able to be aqcuired here ( or in our website , as it may be easier there ). With your help , all of this can be done easily . We already have a good start . I am going to be here for a very long time trying to achieve all this . For any of you that think it's a good direction for your CC to go in . Then lets keep on keepin on . Sincerely , Your Co team member PDB1 , Paul ( sitting here on a rare rainy day ) May the SUN always be with you

A GIFT...2017 Andyson Memorial Magic_11

Hi everyone,

As some of you know, with Paulton's blessing, I have turned the 2017 Andyson Memorial medallion (the one that Slicedpepper posted on all our walls) into a real stainless steel golf ball marker.

As much as I would have liked to send one to everyone that completed the first two rounds of stroke play...it would have been a little pricey. So I decided to buy a limited number of them (50) (I was sent 51 of them and I'm going to hang on to one of them) and randomly select players that completed the first two rounds and send them out as a little memento of this years event.

First, there are a few players that are deserving of one- darek2...mystry78...Paulton & his helpers...bery111...Ducati916...Slicedpepper...TWOMINUSONE...Shedite & WigerToods2010.

Here are the players that were selected at random-

Young46, PSUTOM, K7JBQ, Mbaggese, conveyorguy, Fuzzygaz, MainzMan, Qputts, Overtheedge, drmoose, hpurey, Bowl64, Leggoman13, gonefission, Romax, alanti, Kissmydivot, Cuber, Scotthope, opyeuclid, Oneeyedjohn, frappefort, txzdave, lonniescott711, Yankeejim, VEM9000, AussieMick11, Bigknight, Bogeyplus, RoggRR, okwestly, Miokontic, RonCarr, bluey403, MMills785, Jimbog1964, kavvz, twinponds169 & Butchbay.

So, for anyone on this list that lives in the UK, bery111 will be sending you a friend invite and you need to touch base with him as he will be sending you your ball marker and you need to send him your address.

For anyone in Australia or New Zealand, Alanti will be sending you yours. Please accept his invite and work out the details.

I'll be taking care of the U.S. and the ROTW, so if your name is on this list and you receive an invite from me...please answer it, as I need your address to send you your gift.

DO NOT POST YOUR PERSONAL INFO IN THIS THREAD, OR ON OUR WALLS, WAIT TO HEAR FROM BERY111, ALANTI OR MYSELF PRIVATELY

Lastly, I would like the last ball marker to find it's way to Dennis' family. I am asking for anyone's help to remember if there is a player that has contact with his family and who could help me get this marker into their hands. Please send me a pm if you know how to help, don't post on my wall.

With all that said, I know I forgot things to say and will post any updates in this thread as they become clear...stay tuned.

MC

Very nice gesture indeed mrcaddie. I see I was lucky enough to get picked as a recipient and I am very grateful for that. I am already designing an oak "shadow box" with an led light to proudly display it in memory of Andyson. (I love building one of a kind things) Thank you so much. Romax.

That is just beyond awesome, Wayne! A wonderful gesture that is so fitting to an event that has been above and beyond from the get go last year. This community certainly has someone grinning from ear to ear and beaming with pride from above! TP

Daisy...daisy, I'm sorry Wayne, but, due to the fact that I'm currently orbiting a planet in another solar system, I'm afraid I can't accept my Andyson Marker, the freight costs would be outrageous. First one to the pod bay doors gets it. VEM Smile

I absolutely love what Wayne is doing here. The memorial tourny seems to have caught the spirit and feeling of this community and has taken on a life of it's own. I hope it continues for many more years to come.
On a personal note; I've been really excited at the prospect of seeing one of my little photoshop designs on a real world object. I can't wait to get mine!
    Wayne you're a star!

FWIW, I'd not be concerned with how many stars a thread has.

Heck of a gesture Wayne. I'd like you to find one that may have been Dennis's closer friends, you know, someone that really should deserve it. I sincerely appreciate being chosen, but feel your efforts should go to a more deserving player. Cheers. Mike

An honor sir, and as I said in the pm....quite humbled indeed. I'll spend some time this weekend doing some research, and see if we can't get more info on getting a marker to his family, if nobody has found out how yet.... Maybe thru his charity English Springer Spaniel Rescue ???

I have been watching the Andyson Memorial from time to time. The designer, & promoters deserve accolades, for setting the bar to such heights. From all the entrants, to the simple well-wishers of the event, it will be a Herculean task to outperform this event.
Just when one thinks the pinnacle has been reached, Silently, nobility steps in.
It is nobility, that forms the granite foundation, which benevolence, stands unwavering upon.
One need only open a dictionary, to find Mr. Caddie’s name, synonymous with benevolence.
Those that know Wayne, know reverence, & have no need for a dictionary. His giving, and promotion of kindness, keep him on an unwavering path towards everlasting rewards.
All this is done, for the benefit of others, with no regard of self-adulation.
Andyson marker aside, Wayne has left his mark on society itself. After all is said, & done, a man is judged by his deeds, not his actions.
I hope, one day, to escalate to ½ of Mr. Caddies contributions, in & outside this game.
Thank you Wayne, for the constant reminder, of societies ability to show benevolence, for nothing more, than the sake of it, itself.
    ☢----------------------
    Joe

    Thanks Conveyorguy.
    I don't know your name.
Two things I need to clear up.
    My FISH won't post!!!
    IDK why.
I just received a message from Wayne. I had no idea I was to be a recipient of one of these markers. I did not read any of the recipients names, until today, after Wayne's message.
I am truly humbled by this act, dare I say "speechless" ?
That MIGHT be, a bit far fetched. Honored I am for sure.
This is spooky, as I lost my old one, two weekends ago. Halloween is indeed afoot.
My humblest thanks, to all, for the opportunity, to help keep the spirit of Dennis alive, and well appreciated.

Denny and I chatted on here often, and, although I know the area of Phoenix he lived in, I never knew his actual address....Now I'm about 95% sure I have Dennis/widow's address...but, I want to verify and am trying to make contact with her. Just wondering if anybody knows the link to the condolences post that was put up when we lost Dennis? Maybe we can gleam some information there as to the address of Dennis? Just a thought.

Just did some digging (something we all know Dennis was known for, and brilliant at) and came up with this folks. Maybe its a step in the right direction, if anyone can follow up on it? I got the wrong part of Jamaica on the map. Package was at JFK yesterday, so wouldn't be surprised if it's already landed at Heathrow! :D Although it could be stuck in customs....I've heard that can happen.

As I mentioned to MC, it is an honor to receive such a gift. This game has given me 8 years of the most enjoyable pastime I have had. Dennis and I would communicate through email at least a couple times a month. He was a straight shooter and that is what I respected about Dennis the most. He would call me out when I was wrong but at the same time back me when I was right and trying to make my point whenever I would give my opinions or views in a forum topic. Dennis had what most of us do not have. He could "understand and comprehend" what players were trying to convey whenever they would post. Most of us jump the gun before we "understand" what another player is trying to say or make their point on a topic. Dennis would ALWAYS read, know and understand what the point another player was trying to get across in their post no matter what the topic. Most all of us do not have that understanding. This said I will cherish this "RL" gift from a WGT (Community organized) Memorial Tournament that I was a part of and always will be until this game no longer exist. TY again to MC and to everyone who took the time and effort to make the - andyson Community Memorial Tournament - better than ANY WGT tournament could even think of putting together and being such a success. OTE. God Bless you Dennis. RIP brother.

Got mine today as well and many thanks for an awesome gesture! I am going out in an hour to play probably my last real round of the year and I'm bringing it with me. Please remember Wayne, if you are ever through or near my area (not too far from you), a round of golf with beverages and a steak dinner are always an invite to you! Thanks again! TP

Memorial marker tracker update! The markers are currently winging their way across the pond from New York to Heathrow. More updates as they happen. I believe the longest distance a marker will travel is the one heading to Jimbog. Shows the true international spirit of both the Memorial and this community.

TY MC for the wonderful gift from the "andyson Community Memorial Tournament. Dennis and I would communicate through email every couple weeks. He became a very good friend of mine with what little time we had to really get to know each other. Dennis was a straight shooter. He would call me out when I was wrong and back me when I was right. He had the rare ability to understand and comprehend people's post and the point they were trying to convey through words without expression. There are not many people who can read a post or read into a topic and get the FULL gist of what a player/community member was trying to convey. I will say it again, I will cherish this RL gift from a well run Community tournament. Thank goodness WGT does not have their hands in on it or the tournament would go to ruins. TY again to everyone who helped organize and run a very successful "community" Memorial tournament.

For those that are wondering, I've left a voice mail for Denny's wife and have also now been to the house earlier today. There was no answer at the door, but, I left a short note and hope to hear back soon. If I am fortunate enough to be able to take a marker to her, I will most certainly take a photo and post it here.

All MC has done here is prove what Yancy and I talked about in my interveiw with him. There are truly good people here at WGT. If it had not been for the contact I had with Dennis I would not have stayed. Very seldom in life do we have the opportunity to meet a person that genuinely cares about how someone else might feel. Dennis was one of those. A class act in every sense of those words. The organizers of The Andyson also fit that mold. I only played a very small part in it. Thank you MC. My marker will sit next to my laptop when I play so I can rub it for good luck.

This morning I have received the memorial tee marker . I have stop playing golf in 2008 , I did try one time with my friend from Ontario but it was so bad that golf was over for me( working accident). At my best I always played with a hat, Greg Normand style over the years I started to put stuff like picture ,momentum of golf course I played at, tee marker that I would glue on my hat .........you get the picture ,so much so, that some friends before a round would make fun of me and say stuff like .you playing golf or fishing lol ..... Well this Andyson Memorial tee marker is on my golf hat now . Thank you MRcaddie(Wayne) and all those that got involved in the Memorial . Denis is looking at us in the big fairway up there .Edit PS: I keep calling a ball marker a tee marker oupsss Smile

The best thing about Dennis' Tourney is that it was bigger than this game. It was bigger than this site. This was a testament to a close knit community and how they showed they cared..........Maybe about Andyson, maybe about Dennis, maybe about complete strangers. Maybe we had no stories. Maybe we had hundreds. How many glanced on these threads and would wonder who are these people? How many years have they known each other? Perhaps for one match. Perhaps for countless alt shot games. Perhaps just luck as passing best matches in the night..................Yup. This was bigger than they ever made and in my opinion.....We Won. They might not listen and/or be able to say it. But those that heard it best not ignore it. This community made this despite roadblocks. And we listen. And we hear. And We read between the lines. We know who cares. Thank You, Dennis.........Right on, Cats.~txzdave~

Got home and the old guy next door ( and friend of 30 + years ) calls me and said he got some of my mail . this happens all the time here.......... Go over and have a beer or 3 ............ look at the mail and a water bill , junk and a special pc O mail . opened the one as we had another beer or 2 and told him the story Andyson ....... He stepped in the other room and came back with a old dusty shoe box , He showed me letters from a pen pal he had when still living in the old country as a young man ,,, ... The last letter was from his pen pals family ,,,,,,,, Please see part 2

I received the memorial marker today
    used it on 14 holes
There are many here, in this game, that now have well deserved notoriety
Never ending questions, filled the afternoon.
A gift, it is, in all sense of the word.
I would go to the next level, and call it an honorarium. A payment in recognition of acts, or professional services, for which custom or propriety forbids a price to be set.
One can not put a price on the mischievous deeds, Dennis gave freely, along with his time, and his comedic prowess, randomly.
All participants in the tournament, did exactly the same, in remembrance of something special, that touched an element, in most, rarely seen these days. The element of kind remembrance.
The ball marker will represent not only Dennis' contributions in harmonious gestures, it will also be a reminder to me, of the benefactor, from whence it came.
As large as the memory of Dennis was admonished by strangers, today, the grandiose dispensation, by Mr. Caddie, (Wayne) will go down in philanthropic history, for such an act of kindness.
Grand things, come in small packages, indeed....
I am humbled, by the receivership, of such magnanimity
    ☢-----------------------------
    Thank you Wayne
A thank you to all, that made this event, a heart felt gesture, of good will
    Fishless Joe

Well said Joe. I think all of us who participated in the tournament feel that way. Losing Andyson left a huge empty space in the forum that will be impossible to fill. I tip my tin foil hat (honorary member) to everyone who helped put the tournament on and everyone who played to honor our missing friend. This was our community at it's best.

Looks great and well done, I am very pleased and honored.
Great Design Paulton. Glad to see some of your creation being sent across the globe.
Dwayne, Awesome work on putting the design to a ball marker, your time and effort to the making and sending them all over the world is greatly appreciated.

Have these all been spoken for yet?  If not, please let me know as I'll put Andyson on various course's greens throughout the years.  I think that should be the next goal...get Andyson on a real Pebble Beach or St. Andrews green and for folks to post the pics.

I would love to do this...the nearest course to me is Royal St Georges. Problem is I don't have a real world handicap - and a minimum of 18 is required at RSG! I wonder if they'll accept my WGT Legend status?! lol

I believe you may have just solved a problem of mine, old friend. You see, as I reside in the virtual world, I have been unable to give Wayne a physical address to send my marker to. I would consider it an honor if you were to accept my 2017 Andyson Memorial marker as a personal gift  from me, to one of our community's long standing members. Please PM Wayne with your info, Squirrelnutz., I'm sure Dennis would approve.

You are the man , MC. Paul can be assistant man. LOL I received the marker and have the absolute best place to use it. Dennis would probably be impressed that he gets first nod here.
You see, I have this favorite golf hat my son got me one year for Christmas-a Titleist, Yankee version. What made it really cool was the magnetic ball marker and the magnet buried in the bill. What makes it even cooler now is the ball marker. I hope it generates comments on the course because I would have a great story to tell about a great individual-Andyson - and what  a world wide community did for him.  :-)

Dennis was a priceless gift to so many of us. We used to talk privately and his help was beyond reproach. I truly miss his input on WGT and the friendship we had. If anyone made WGT a pleasure to be a part of, he was definitely in the top 1%,

+1 Rich.  Add to that his great ability to poke fun at some of the things about WGT that bother most of us, while reminding us that it's just a game.
As a side note, I hope whatever landed you in the VA Hospital, causing you to miss round 2 of the Tournament is no longer a problem, and that you are doing well.
On this Veterans Day / Remembrance Day weekend, I say to all of my Veteran Brothers and Sisters thank you for your service.

I'm still playing catch up at work and will try my best to return all your pm's as soon as I can. Also, I'll try to get the rest of the markers sent out (hopefully) by weeks end.

First off, Wayne, please forgive me for not posting this earlier. I did receive my marker and will cherish it and think of Dennis every time I look at it. Right now it will be displayed in my golf ball cabinet and when friends ask "what's this?" I can brag and tell them what a great online golf community I have had the honor and privilege to be a member of for the past few years. Thank you again for taking the time, effort and energy for doing this and may you and your family have a safe and happy holiday season.

Massive thanks to Wayne, Alan and all the good folk involved with this wonderful gift.
Although I was unable to complete the 2nd Tourney and didn't appear on the original list of lucky recipients, I'm surprised and delighted to find myself the proud owner of the Andyson Memorial 2017 ball marker Smile
Cheers guys you rock, have a happy and safe new year, I'll see you again in 2018!

    Nanstar,
Although you couldn't complete the event, for obvious personal reasons, you did complete the first two rounds of stroke play, which was my requirement to have one's name thrown in the hat. You're correct that your name wasn't on the original list of recipients, but it was on the short list of backup names that were selected in case anyone declined my offer.
As luck would have it, a few players did decline my offer and that's how (with Alan's help) one of the markers found its way to your door.
    You're most welcome.

yeah guys I didnt even know this thread was here
firstly i love everything you do to support a great legacy that was andyson
secondly i checked the mailbox today (only check it once a week) because its normally jammed with crap this time of year and there was 3 items in it
    * a rates notice, they hurt even tho you own something you still hav to pay
    * a notice from  liquidators that the company i have worked for 13 years is being wound up on monday, but my entitlements will be paid in full
    * a ball marker
Thankyou very much Wayne and Alan, and everyone else that make this possible.
    A great gesture indeed.
I only play 1 or 2 rounds of golf a year now and they are with fellow members of WGT community so I will show this off proudly when asked to

Once again thanks, I will go to sleep tonite with a smile on my face.

Any left?  I'd be very happy to carry mine in my golf bag.  Please advise if there are still any unspoken for.  Thanks!

What a wonderful gesture. Although I did not know Andy well, I had the pleasure of his company for a round or two and some chatting. Very nice man.

I love seeing stuff like this with all the negativity in the world.

I have mine and it will be a treasured past on keepsake. Dennis was priceless on WGT and this too will remain so.

It's been a bit now, and I was wonderin if anyone knows if Dennis's family was able to receive one of these markers ? Would be quite a wonderful thing, I would think. It would be nice if we could find out this info.

    Good question Mike.
All I can say is that I sent Ducati two envelopes (with a marker inside of each one) inside a larger envelope back in December. One envelope had Ducati's name on it and the other said "The Anderson Family" on it. I sent them to Ducati because, somewhere, he said he lived in close proximity to Dennis' family, and if I remember correctly, he actually knocked on the family's door, so I thought this was the best way for one of the markers to reach Dennis' family.
I know they were delivered because the tracking number says they arrived on December 22.
I checked Ducati's page about two weeks after I sent them and he hadn't been on since December 15th, so maybe something happened to him. I don't know, but I hope he's ok, because I too would like to know if that marker found it's way to Andy's family.
